A Week of Sports, Financial Empowerment, & Community Impact Unites Athletes, Entrepreneurs, and Fans
LOS ANGELES, Feb 12 — The Players Company (TPC) is thrilled to announce the success of its NBA All-Star Weekend events. This unique celebration united athletes, investors, entrepreneurs, and fans for a week of empowerment, education, and entertainment.
Hoops & Icons embodies TPC’s mission to help athletes, investors, and entrepreneurs take control of their financial futures while inspiring positive change in their communities. The week featured dynamic events focused on financial literacy, community-building, and the transformative power of sports.
The events kicked off on Wednesday, February 11th, with The Women In Sports (WINS) wellness event in partnership with JP Morgan. The WINS Wellness event was created to celebrate the growth of women in all facets of sports, whether on the courts, on the sidelines, or behind the scenes. We also highlighted the importance of wellness, both mentally & physically.
The program featured a dynamic panel of industry leaders, hosted by Melissa Cardenas from JP Morgan, and including Stefania Okolie, Trishtan Williams, Jenna Bandy, and Alex Curry, each making a powerful impact across the sports landscape. The conversation was followed by an outdoor hip-hop yoga session led by local Inglewood community fitness leader, Claudine Cooper. Attendees received a Fabletics yoga mat, Solely Fit activewear, and a goody bag with wellness essentials.
On Thursday, February 12th, TPC brought All-Star energy to Hollywood Park in Inglewood, California, for our annual Hoops & Icons community event. In partnership with the legendary Drew League, the completely free and open-to-the-public NBA All-Star Weekend event delivered high-impact basketball, culture, and connection without the All-Star price tag.
The evening featured a special guest coaching appearance from NBA Champion and Hall of Famer Paul Pierce, facing off against NBA legend Cuttino Mobley. Giving fans rare access to elite talent in an electric, festival-style environment. Doors opened at 6:00 PM, welcoming the entire community to a VIP-level experience running through 9:00 PM.
Hoops & Icons showcased its signature lineup of competitive and fan-favorite events, including a 5×5 Celebrity Game with influencers, athletes, and entertainers, a high-energy Red Bull “Run the Racks” 3-Point Shootout, and a jaw-dropping Dunk Contest featuring world-class performers. Beyond the on-court action, attendees enjoyed food trucks, raffles, and nonstop entertainment, creating a true community celebration. On top of this amazing event, TPC will donate the basketball court to the venue, creating a permanent, safe space for the local community to play and gather, leaving a lasting legacy in Inglewood.
The Players Company sincerely thanks all participants, partners, and attendees for making Hoops & Icons a resounding success. Stay tuned for upcoming events as we continue to empower athletes, investors, entrepreneurs, and communities through education, financial literacy, and the power of sports.
A special thank you to our sponsors who made these events possible: JP Morgan, Fabletics, BREZZA, Flow Hydration, Solely Fit, Key Energy Drink, Corkcicle, SLAPP drink, Manta Sleep, 1987 Juices, Pricklee, Intelligent Change, Pause Studio, Sleepmax, Drew League, Red Bull, Flex Court, Moneyball Sportswear, and Stock Admin Co.
